Busy, Busy, Busy!

Yes, according to 157 Stamford Street, its that time of the year again! but thankfully the next few weeks bring about a bit of positive buzz for Headwrecker. 

In Label news, nextweek see’s the first gig in a while for SORO. There the support for the last gig of the infamous polish hardcore band  “ZLODZIEJE ROWEROW”, which Ironically translates as “Bike Thieve’s”. This is there last gig and it will be a pleasure to see them off with a bang. Other support comes from Hello Bastards and Swine Hotline, Its all happening at the Grosvenor Saturday 28th November 8pm.

Headwrecker also announces another addition to its label. Dublin’s ESTEL who for many years now have challenged the narrowminded Punk’s, Metalheads and anyone who generally refers to music as “umm-pah, um-pah”. They have toured constantly throughout the last ten years and have even colaberated with the likes of Mike Watt and Steve McKaye (ex-stooges, minutemen). The news album is set for spring 2010. This album will hopefully be added to the long awaited release of the Drainland Vinyl. This release will now be a debut album and will join Estel’s release in the Headwrecker catalogue to highlight Dublin’s booming underground Music scene.

In other news, Courier appreciation day is happening on Thursday the 26th November. Click HERE to see far too much information on this! Also the LCEF is already planning its christmas shindig and after the shambles that was Headwrecker’s part in the bride of frankenkat, our services along with the House of pistard’s crack team is busy at work trying to figure out the theme for the upcoming Kat, stay tuned for more info.

Yes, yes life is back to busy for Headwrecker, however the ability to persue all these tasks require’s gainful employment, so when not on the road, one can be found producing Vegan treats for various cafe’s and restaurants around London.  Everything from Sponge’s and Puddings to Biscuits and Muffins…..

…..however the Hitler Gingerbreadmen didnt go down so well…..  

Stay FIT!!!

For those who enjoy a bit of flash, Volt BMX presents the London Premiere of FIT BIKE CO.’s new movie “Stay fit”. Its happening on the 15th November at the Pangea Project Project, 72 Stamford Hill, London, N16 6XS. Here’s a little taster of whats on show…

The bar will be open from 7pm and the movie starts at 9pm. Its free so show up, what else is there to do on a sunday night!

Thank’s to everyone who came out, raced, or manned a check point, and to Vojtech who survived an evening of lying on hannibal road’s finest concrete with several pounds of cold spagetti, peas, a few inner-tubes and watery ketchup on top of him. You sir are a king among men!

Special thanks to Tour de Ville, House of Pistard, and Bicycle Union for all the prizes. Headwrecker’s donations were not met with the same desire as I just so happened to find a few of my patches (like the lovely one shown above!) lying, soaked, outside the foundry, doh! Also Special Thanks to Robin for returning Dave’s bike key that fell into his prize bag. All in all it was a great turn-out and hopefully the racing public have a taste and can eagerly look forward to the joint adventure of Headwrecker and The House of Pistard….watch this space for further details!

In Label news SORO are currently finishing the mastering of there Debut Album. The recording took place and the 1in12 club Bradford and was mixed and mastered by Bri Doom! Soro are currently looking for a third label to put this work out, anyone interested feel free to contact myself or there myspace.

Last but not least the opening of London’s first and only all-bmx shop happened last weekend. “VOLT BMX” carries all the latest products from such brands as United, Chrome and of course Bicycle Union. Open 10am – 6pm Monday – Saturday. Its about time!

Tear it up!!!

After recovering from an intercontinental drive back to London, its straight back to the grind here at Headwrecker Industries……….With the help of the mantathalon crew, The following is goin down!!!

With courier appreciation day around the corner the Wonderful L.C.E.F. inlisted Headwrecker’s badge making labour force to churn out a few to hand out. Catch up with Dazzaler or the rest of the crew and scrounge a few off em.

Looks like there’s a busy few months ahead for Headwrecker. The Drainland 7inch looks set for January 2010 along with the long awaited Easpa Measa/Divisions Ruin Split 10inch. These two vinyl’s will set the benchmark for whats going on in Irish Crust at the moment. Watch out for D.R. touring with Bacchus Janurary 11th****, a headwrecker fiasco!

OK….so after a wee break Headwrecker is back up and running, The two releases planned for this summer have somewhat taken a turn but  two 7inches from Headwrecker are coming nonetheless!.  First is the Drainland 7inch. This is a split release between Headwrecker and Dublin’s Suburban Mayhem Industries. Drainland are planning some short irish tours over the next while, one involving battle of wolf 359, a fantastic emo-violence band from London. Be sure to check Drainland out live if you have the chance, if not there three track demo “SWINE” is available for download on there myspace.

The Planned Spectra Hawk/Treatiod Split has been abandoned Due to the Hawk Calling it a day, however a new band started by Bloody Kev is in the works, watch this space for more info.

In other news, The band Soro (which I just so happen to sing in) has just finished recording and is currently putting together a 12inch of music. Upcoming Gigs!

There are two gigs coming up. Irish/Polish Crust outfit Tunguska are over on May 6th with touring partners Bacchus and Headwrecker’s First Brithday is celebrated with Epic D-beaters Divisions Ruin and Dublin’s excellent “Droppin Bombs”, think Propagandhi with a crusty leftover crack feel.
